To SIGN-UP for class, simply drop by the shop or call and pay the class fee
Students are entitled to a special discount on purchases. We encourage students to take advantage of our high quality fabrics and tools so they will have the best possible results with their new skills.
Note: As a professional courtesy to our teachers, a 48-hour cancellation is required to receive a class refund. A 2-week cancellation is required for special events.
If possible, please don’t wait until the last minute to sign up for classes. Please sign up early.
We offer beginning to advanced classes covering many different types of sewing skills. Be sure to check back quarterly for our new class schedule.

Follow the links below to the classes you are interested in. To help you locate appropriate classes, the class descriptions list the class date and whether the class is in the daytime, evening or on a Saturday. Please contact the store for specific class times and fees and to register for classes. Registration for all classes requires pre-payment of class fees.
- Sewing Skills - These classes cover clothing construction skills ranging from beginning and intermediate to french machine sewing and tailoring. This section also includes the classes we call Machine Arts and Wearable Arts
- Hand Arts - These classes feature hand sewing and needlework topics like smocking and silk ribbon embroidery.
- Quilting - We cover a wide range of quilting topics including beginning quilting, hand and machine applique, hand and machine quilting, and many special projects classes.
- Embroidery - These classes are for embroidery machine owners. They go beyond the basics covered in the "Guide" classes to help embroidery machine owners take full advantage of their machine’s potential. Computing classes directly related to embroidery software are listed in this section.
- Software Classes - Computers are playing an increasingly important role in sewing, embroidery and quilting. Class topics range from Windows basics to exploring the Internet, scanning, and using quilt design software.
- Kids Sewing - Pass the love of sewing on to your children early. These classes are for children 8 and older.
- Serging Skills - These classes teach creative serging techniques you can use regardless of your serger brand.
- Guide Classes - Each person who purchases a new machine at Sew Contempo is entitled to instructions on using their machine. Some of these instructions are given in Guide Classes. If you have purchase a new machine from us, check this listing to see if their is a guide class for your machine.
- Machine Classes - These project classes teach techniques for specific machines typically by involving the students in a project.
